Volvo 7900 Electric
For streetsmart cities
Superior charging flexibility
Long service range
Turn-key offer
The new Volvo 7900 Electric is so much more than an electric bus. It's an enabler, a tool that gives you totally new possibilities to develop your public transport and your entire city. The Volvo 7900 Electric can run literally everywhere. Silent, clean and emission-free, it can go where people actually want to go.

A turn-key solution
Introducing the Volvo 7900 Electric means peace of mind. We minimise operational and financial risk by offering a turn-key solution. The capacity you need at a specified cost per kilometre.

Manage sensitive zones
Zones where noise, speed and emissions are limited are becoming more and more common. The Volvo 7900 Electric can cope with all this and comes with tools for zone management.

Efficient charging
Rapid and fully automatic charging at end stops helps you keep your schedule. Combination with depot charging, with OppCharge or CCS, gives superior charging flexibility.

Silent comfort
The Volvo 7900 Electric is an extremely silent and comfortable experience – for passengers on board, those waiting at the bus stop and nearby residents.

Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS)
VDS means effortless manoeuvring in roundabouts and when cornering, and a relief for the driver’s neck and shoulders.

For safer cities
The Volvo 7900 Electric can be specified with the Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection System. The driver and other road users are warned when there is a risk of collision.
The new Volvo 7900 Electric can be deployed on virtually any route in any city. With passenger capacity on a par with conventional buses, and outstanding operational flexibility, you can keep your passengers satisfied and meet their expectations. The new Volvo 7900 Electric offers a flexible line-up of charging possibilities. Below you will find a brief outline, but for a firm proposal we will need your specific route data and requirements. You are most welcome to contact VBC E-mobility Consulting and book a meeting.

Depot charging
For short to medium-length routes, the capacity of the new Volvo 7900 Electric allows charging off-route, in your depot. Choose between an OppCharge pantograph with power up to 300 kW and CCS charging via cable, up to 150 kW. Let your operational requirements and availability patterns decide.

Single end stop charging
For average downtown routes, a combination of depot and on-route charging is often the most efficient solution. During peak hours, the buses are charged at lay-over at the most remote end stop, and often the bus can run several roundtrips between chargings. Off-peak, part of the fleet can return to the depot to top up the battery capacity.

Dual end stop charging
With OppCharge units at both ends of a route you can, in principle, obtain unlimited range. Even with short intervals between buses and high capacity demands, the Volvo 7900 Electric can maintain a sufficient energy level with only a few minutes of high-power charging.
